Youth & Children’s Coordinator

Full time (5-year post) starting October 2015

Crown Church, Inverness (Church of Scotland)

Salary £22,000 – £25,000 (D.O.E.)

This is an exciting opportunity for a committed Christian to help us develop and expand the existing youth work in our Church and Community. Together with the support of an experienced youth work team, you will be responsible for working with a diverse group of young people.

Do you have:-

• the innovation and vision to develop the ministry of children and young people?

• an understanding of good practice in recruiting, motivating and working with volunteers?

• the ability to work collaboratively with colleagues and contribute to effective team working?

• the ability to work unsupervised and undertake new initiatives?

In accountability to the Minister, the responsibilities of the Youth & Children’s Coordinator will include:

1. Building effective relationships with children, young people and their families in Crown Church and the Parish;

2. Supporting and developing ministry with children and young people within Crown Church;

3. Organising and running outreach events and initiatives for children and young people in Crown parish;

4. Recruiting and supporting volunteers for this ministry and outreach;

5. Sharing in the life of Crown Church, taking up opportunities to lead in worship services;

6. Sharing in the life of local schools as part of the Chaplaincy team and as other opportunities present themselves;

7. Helping to develop Crown Church’s vision and strategy for children and young people;
   

There is a genuine occupational requirement for the applicant to be a committed Christian.
